There was a day, not so long ago that, with barely three winks of sleep a night and only a little bit of juice left in the otherwise empty fridge, Edgar Neighne Ostrich sat down with a glass feeling rather defeated.

He did not have two pennies to rub together; yet it seemed as though he was working eight days a week at his three jobs, none of which was his passion. Edgar۪s commute was an absolute beast, and it was a race just to make each shift in time.   It must۪ve been pure exhaustion that had him waxing philosophic: Was the glass half full or half empty? When the sugar hit finally coaxed him out of his slump, he realized that it was both, and it was neither.  It had dawned on him that it is only perception that makes things so.  Things aren۪t good or bad and, while he doesn۪t always have control over a situation, he does have control over his response.  And Edgar had been letting his perspective restrict his dreams, opportunities, and joy.

Being tight on cash taught him to budget effectively; three jobs offered diverse experience and time management skills. That hustle gave him fitness when he wouldn۪t have otherwise found the time and, well, it taught him to hustle.  Edgar decided that every single thing that had happened in his life led to this moment and he was going to take complete advantage of these adversity gains۪.

I۪m doing it...Change my thoughts, change my life۪, he thought resolutely.  Starting this very second, I will bootstrap my way to living my absolute best life ever!۪  And he did and he is.  Now, even when it seems his glass is empty, he knows - with a wink and a grin - in reality it is perpetually full.
